Five Health Benefits of CBD Oil

With the CBD market expected to hit a whopping $39.98 billion in 2026, it is expected that medical researchers will establish more health benefits of this non-psychotic cannabinoid. Medical research has proved that using CBD can help in the management of the following conditions:

1.      Arthritis

Clinical experiments on animals have revealed that using CBD topically can alleviate pain and inflammation, synonymous with arthritis. According to the researchers, using CBD topically to manage arthritis gives better results since consuming it orally can result in gastrointestinal effects.

Although the results on the efficacy of CBD in arthritis management are provisional and target animals, humans could get a breakthrough with this cannabinoid.

2.      Epilepsy

The FDA approved Epidiolex, a plant-based formulation of CBD, to be used to treat seizures. According to the FDA, Epiodex was to be used to treat Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) and Dravet syndrome, which are forms of epilepsy, although rare.

More research showed that mixing CBD with conventional medication reduced seizures in people with rare forms of epilepsy by 44%. Although the results varied,

P.S: Some people have been diagnosed with poor liver function after taking Epidiolex to manage epilepsy. Therefore, before you start using Epidiolex to manage your epileptic symptoms, it is advisable to talk to your physician.

3.      Depression

According to research, CBD has the potential to relieve depression severity due to its anti-stress properties. Research carried out on animals found that CBD improved the serotonin levels in the brain and, as such, could reduce stress levels.

Once researchers roll out large-scale human trials, they will develop better results on its efficacy.

4.      Chronic Pain

Provisional results from animal studies have revealed that CBD can alleviate chronic pain due to its anti-inflammatory properties and impact on the endocannabinoid system.

The existing human trials on the efficacy of CBD in the suppression of chronic pain included a combination of CBD and THC.

One of the experiments emerged that using the CBD-THC combo was effective in managing non-cancer related chronic. During the experiment, 47 people with multiple sclerosis were given the combination of the two cannabinoids. After the observation period elapsed, the patients recorded improved health; less pain and inflammation.

Although researchers are yet to conduct mass experiments on various causes of chronic pain, CBD could become the future of alleviating pain.

5.      Sleep Disorders

Sleep disorders are primarily linked to stress disorders such as panic attacks and depression, and chronic pain. Research has revealed that taking CBD can make you sleep better, regardless. During one research, 72 participants were induced with CBD to find out its efficacy. Out of the whole population, 48 of the participants (66.67%) recorded improved sleep patterns.

More research is needed to prove whether CBD can improve sleep patterns in people without side effects.

As more states and countries continue to legalize the medical use of CBD, researchers are expected to come up with more findings on its efficacy. Before you infuse CBD into the conventional medication, it is prudent to get a medical report from your physician.
